    Washington Flooding

The boyz headed out to visit with friends in SW Washington to check out the damage from the early December hurricane that dumped 20+ inches of water in 24 hours.

We started in the little town of Pe Ell which was started as a logging and drinking community. The water ran down the main street.

We passed a washed out road and drove down a very empty block of homes to this farm which was covered in 6-8 inches of mud. Note that the washed out road was picked up and large parts were tossed intact onto the farmland.

A number of homes close to the river ended up really bad.

We then went past the Rainbow Falls park and the bridge was washed out. You can see the force of wasting the bridge and lifting rocks that weigh a ton.

    facebook as Commerce Platform?

I have been playing with facebook, writing applications (both the iFrame and FBML types) and along with a bunch of people who I am friends with, it is a fun application with some cool features. Several weeks back I started promoting my Larouex Gourmet Foods website using their ad serving system and I was able to bid and drive several hundred click-throughs, so I was pleased with how it works. Today I added one of the new features called "Pages" on facebook that supports promotion of various businesses. It ties into their advertising capabilities and I looking to use those features and turn them on to see how much traffic I can drive to my site. I plan to see if I can build a corpus of fans and then offer discounts and promotions, etc.

Check out my Larouex Gourmet Foods page on facebook and become a fan.

Finally - Replay Music Beta Out

I have posted previously on this cool piece of software and it has been broken on Vista and I have missed it greatly. Applian posted a beta that tackles the issues on Vista and it works great. Highly recommended!
